Envision Consulting Finalizes CEO Search for New Directions For Veterans

    Unpublished

Envision Consulting, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit consulting firm, finalized the President and CEO search for New Directions for Veterans (NDVets), with the hiring of Colonel Yvette Kelley on August 22, 2016. NDVets is a nonprofit organization that helps our nation’s veterans successfully address the challenges after military service. Colonel Kelley is a military veteran with 30 years of military experience in project management, training, strategic planning, financial management and problem solving.

“My 30 years of Army service has taught me to never leave behind a fallen comrade and New Directions puts this into practice every day by helping veterans achieve fulfilling lives,” says Colonel Kelley. “I am proud to be part of this organization and I look forward to working with the dedicated staff and board to continue this vital work and expand efforts to help even more veterans in our community.”

Previously, Ms. Kelley was the Director of CENTCOM Outreach Program at The Pentagon in Washington, D.C., where she strengthened relationships with the Department of Defense, Department of State, foreign dignitaries and other organizations. Also, she represented CENTCOM to numerous agencies on issues affecting the Middle East. She also served as the Garrison Commander at Fort Rucker performing city manager duties for a large and diverse military helicopter training base.

“Colonel Kelley brings the perfect combination of military experience, advanced academic credentials and proven leadership and management capabilities to take New Directions for Veterans to the next level. Her commitment to the well-being of our vets will have a direct impact on our mission to help them become productive members of society once again,” says Rudy Grimaldo, Chairman of the Board.

After several months of searching nationally for viable candidates, more than 50 applicants applied for the President and CEO position. Candidates participated in a rigorous interview process, which included several interviews, a strengths test and a presentation to the NDVets search committee. Envision partnered with John Dorger, Principal of Dorger Consulting, who brought significant leadership and military context to the search process.

“We work hard to ensure that every client we engage has unparalleled support during our search,” says Envision Consulting Partner Allison Fuller. “Including Mitch on this assignment reflects our passion and commitment not only to the nonprofit sector, but to veterans issues specifically.”

“With Yvette’s extensive background in the military, along with managerial and financial experience, and her passion for veterans issues, we knew she would be a perfect fit for New Directions,” says Partner Matt Kamin.
