A Window Between Worlds, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit that empowers individuals and communities impacted by violence and trauma through a transformative healing arts program, is proud to announce the appointment of Zachery Scott as their incoming Executive Director.
“On behalf of AWBW, we are thrilled to have Zachery take the helm as our next Executive Director,” said Stacia Kato, Board President. “His keen intellect, passion for the sector, and the creative vision for fulfilling our mission are among the many things that most impressed us and made him the best choice to lead us into our next chapter.”
Mr. Scott brings with him over 15 years of prior success in the nonprofit world, managing community programs, fundraising, and building strategic relationships. Among his many accomplishments, as VP of Development and Communications for the Village Family Services, he coordinated the opening of the first Measure H-funded homeless youth housing program in the San Fernando Valley.
“I'm excited and honored to join A Window Between Worlds, a compassionate and community-focused expressive arts organization, as their next Executive Director,” said Mr. Scott. "In my history of working with children and those combatting emotional trauma, I have seen the transformational impact that art can have in unpacking that trauma, allowing victims to regain control of their emotions and their lives. But the need is growing across Los Angeles and the country. Given their extensive history utilizing a trauma-informed approach to care, I am eager to support the dedicated staff and Board of Directors in expanding our reach to serve those in crisis.”
A Window Between Worlds entered the search process looking for a visionary who is passionate about their mission, viewing art as a catalyst to release trauma, build resilience and ignite social change. The Board of Directors has every confidence that they found that leader in Mr. Scott.
