We’re thrilled to partner once again with the Center for Nonprofit Management (CNM) on a new report aimed at shedding light on our sector’s compensation and workforce. This research will surface important, actionable insights into the opportunities and challenges facing our field.
To make this effort meaningful and impactful, we really need your help.
We’re asking nonprofit leaders, employees and funders to provide feedback on their compensation practices and broader workforce experience—including retention, inclusion, and the impact of technology—so we can better understand the current state of the workforce.
This survey will take approximately 35 minutes to complete and includes the following:
- Complete a survey
- Provide a payroll data file for your employees, including compensation and basic workforce information
- Share the survey with your staff or partners to help increase participation
- All data will be kept confidential and reported only in aggregate.

How long does it take?
The survey takes approximately 35 minutes for organizational respondents and 15 minutes for individual employees.

Yes. All responses will be kept confidential and reported only in aggregate. No individual or organization will be identified in any public reporting.

Who is conducting this research?
This research is being conducted by the Center for Nonprofit Management (CNM) in partnership with Envision Consulting.

How will the data be used?
The data will be used to produce a Workplace Report that provides insights into compensation, workforce experiences, retention, inclusion, and the impact of technology across the nonprofit sector. Findings will help inform nonprofit leaders, funders, and the broader field.

No. Individual responses will not be shared. All data will be aggregated to ensure confidentiality.
