The Achievable Foundation Welcomes New
Director of Development and Communications, Amanda Porta
Los Angeles, CA – The Achievable Foundation – whose mission is to provide high quality, integrated health care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families, and other vulnerable populations – has announced the appointment of its new Director of Development and Communications, Amanda Porta.
"Given the barriers vulnerable populations face in obtaining health care services, I am excited to join The Achievable Foundation team and support its mission to comprehensively provide high-quality support to persons with disabilities, their families and other members of the community,” said Porta. “I believe in this important work and am eager to join a team which is part of the solution."
Porta will lead Achievable’s fundraising and communications efforts, creating a culture of giving and building relationships with individuals, community groups, corporations, and foundations. Porta brings a breadth of fundraising experience, including in principal, planned and major gifts, as well as overseeing the fundraising strategy and operations of the Chicago Literacy Alliance as Director of Development.
"We are delighted to have Amanda Porta join our team as the Development and Communications Director,” said CEO, Carmen Ibarra. “Her experience and breadth of knowledge will allow The Achievable Foundation to expand its ability to provide high quality, integrated health care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as to other members of the community."
The appointment of Porta follows a thorough recruitment process overseen by The Achievable Foundation in partnership with Envision Consulting—a nonprofit consulting firm with offices in New York and Los Angeles, specializing in executive search, organizational strategy, merger exploration and executive leadership transitions.
