Envision Consulting, a Pasadena-based nonprofit search and consulting firm, announced the launch of “Learning Labs” seminar series. These classes are geared for people interested in learning more about important issues in the nonprofit sector, focusing on topics such as serving on a nonprofit board of directors, strategic planning, fundraising and more.
“There are so many people who have big hearts and want to get involved with the nonprofit sector either as a career change or in a volunteer capacity,” said Principal Suzanne Elliott. “We want to help build their knowledge base before they dive in.”
In February, Envision kicked off the “Learning Labs” series with “Board Member Crash Course” reviewing the basics of serving on a nonprofit board of directors, including what is expected and what to expect. March’s session will focus on strategic planning: reasons to develop a plan, steps in the planning process and who to include in the process.
Principal Julie Ha Truong added, “Our Learning Labs aren’t just for people who are new to the nonprofit sector; they’re also a great way for established nonprofit executives and board members to learn new ideas to incorporate into their own organizations.”
