    Demystifying the Nonprofit Sector

    Demystifying the Nonprofit Sector

    October 17, 2019 | 5:00-7:00pm

    Trainer: Mitch Dorger, Envision Consulting

Newer to the nonprofit sector? Looking to transition into the nonprofit sector? As nonprofit recruiters and strategists at Envision Consulting, we know you have transferrable skills, but the hang up with potential employers is often “but does the candidate know how the nonprofit sector works?” You may think doing good can’t be that difficult, but the truth is, there are many nuances to working at a nonprofit organization. To help with this disconnect, we’re offering a series of Demystifying the Nonprofit Sector sessions. The first session, Demystifying the Nonprofit Sector, will focus on the fundamentals you’ll need to know as a nonprofit employee.

This session will walk you through:

    1. Nonprofit sector overview: What really is a nonprofit organization? What issues are facing the sector today?
    2. What’s unique: What is the difference between for-profits and nonprofits?
    3. How do they work: What does nonprofit governance and management look like?
    4. Sign me up! Discover ways to help ease your way into the nonprofit world.

Future sessions will take deeper dives into nonprofit finances and fundraising, two areas we often see as knowledge gaps for people who transition into the sector. We look forward to having you join us -- come meet our team, many of whom who have made sector-transitions themselves.
